Statistics and probability are usually taught by people who love stats, says The Economist, and the results can be stultifying. However, the magazine continues, Wheeler’s new book is interesting “because it focuses on the purpose of stats, not their inner elegance.”
The reader is kept at ease and engaged, the reviewer says, by the “trademark silly humour,” which Wheelan ’88, a senior lecturer and policy fellow at the Nelson A.
