Obama: In Trouble on IRS, Benghazi (The Washington Monthly)

In an opinion piece in The Washington Monthly, Brendan Nyhan, assistant professor of government, writes that President Obama is likely to spend “a lot more time mired in the politics of scandal after last week’s Benghazi hearings and Friday’s revelation of alleged political targeting at the IRS.”

Nyhan says a major media scandal is quite probable, in part because Obama is in his second term, when scandals are “most likely to take place,” and because there are currently few major news stories to provide competition.
