Wicked Local features Dartmouth’s Michael Johnson ’13, a pitcher on the Big Green baseball team, who was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 14th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft.

“I’m just very happy for him,” Dartmouth Head Baseball Coach Bob Whalen tells the website. “He is a terrific kid with a great family. He has worked very hard. Without question, he has earned his opportunity.”

Johnson was a perfect 7-0 on the mound for the Big Green this year, earning him first-team All-Ivy League honors, the article notes.

Also selected in this year’s Major League Baseball draft were the Big Green’s Cole Sulser ’12 and Mitch Horacek ’14. Sulser was selected in the ninth round by the Baltimore Orioles, while Sulser was drafted in the 25th round by the Cleveland Indians. This is the first time that the Big Green has had three selections in a single draft.
