Forbes writes that a new book of essays by actress, comedian, author, and producer Aisha Tyler ’92 is “both hilarious and motivating, and it might just inspire you to start an a cappella group.”

Tyler’s Self-Inflicted Wounds: Heartwarming Tales of Epic Humiliation is, Forbes writes, about “the times she messed up, humiliated herself, and got treated like a human maypole by the kids at school. It’s about the fact that not fitting in doesn’t mean you’re not right. Like she says in the book, ‘To win, you need to fail, and fail hard.’ ”

Tyler also talks in her book about the job with a non-profit organization that she took after graduating from Dartmouth, and how that helped her in the multi-faceted business she now runs.
