Wheelan, a senior lecturer and policy fellow at the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences and a visiting professor in the Department of Economics, is the author of The Centrist Manifesto, which explains the need for a centrist party and the party’s goals, UPI writes.
Wheelan tells UPI that there are trends arguing for “a new party in the middle,” particularly among young voters who’ve become disenchanted with the Democrats and the Republicans.
“There are serious problems that need centrist problem-solving,” he tells UPI.
