In a look at three-year and six-year graduation rates at public and private U.S. colleges and universities, The Chronicle of Higher Education ranks Dartmouth ninth among four-year private institutions. Of the 10 private colleges with the highest rates, the Chronicle writes, six are in the Ivy League.

The Chronicles notes that only colleges “with at least 500 students in the degree-seeking cohort were included. At four-year colleges, graduation rates reflect the percentage of first-time, full-time degree-seeking students who entered in the fall of 2005 and graduated within six years.” Dartmouth’s rate, according to the Chronicle, was 95 percent.
