“Charles Wheelan has a plan for overcoming Capitol Hill gridlock—ditch the Republicans and the Democrats,” writes The Fiscal Times. In his book, The Centrist Manifesto, Wheelan ’88, a senior lecturer and policy fellow at the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences and a senior lecturer in the Department of Economics, describes the need for a new political party—the Centrist party.

The new Centrist party, Wheelan tells The Fiscal Times, would focus on four core ideas:  fiscal responsibility, environmental responsibility, social inclusion, and a commitment to providing economic opportunities.
