In a story about how financial aid requests factor into the admissions process at U.S. colleges and universities, Forbes notes that Dartmouth is among at least six schools in the United States that have need-blind admissions policies for domestic and international students.

“Need-blind means ‘there’s a firewall between the admissions office and the aid office,’ ” writes Forbes reporter Maggie McGrath, quoting the 2014 edition of the Princeton Review’s Paying for College Without Going Broke. “That is, the decision to admit or deny the student’s application for admission is solely based on their academic profile.”
