As a guest on NHPR’s The Exchange, William Wohlforth, the Daniel Webster Professor of Government, discusses the changing relationship and tension between the United States and Russia.

“There are very strict limits on how far Vladimir Putin will allow the relationship to sour,” Wohlforth tells NHPR. “There’s too much at stake. Russia can’t afford a new Cold War. It knows how that would turn out for it. There is an ambiguity in Russia-West relations—cooperation on some issues and competition and rivalry on others.”
