President Barack Obama sat down with CNN’s Jake Tapper ’91 for an exclusive interview last week to discuss several of the topics he focused on during his State of the Union address, including using executive orders to bypass Congress.

During their discussion about Congress, Obama tells Tapper, “I think there are going to be some issues where it’s going to be tough for them to move forward. And I am going to continue to reach out to them and say here are my best ideas, I want to hear yours. But, as I said at the State of the Union, I can’t wait. And the American people, more importantly, cannot wait.”

Tapper is the host of CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper.
