D’Agostino Chasing Even More Titles (ESPN)

Abbey D’Agostino ’14 heads into this weekend’s NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships as the defending national champion in both the 3,000 and 5,000 meters, notes ESPN in a feature story about the Dartmouth track and field standout.

The article chronicles D’Agostino’s unlikely rise from a “good high school runner,” to a five-time NCAA champion. “Dartmouth—its atmosphere, her teammates and coaches—provided the perfect garden for D’Agostino to blossom. A once-overlooked kid in the Ivy League has risen to the top while competing against the nation’s best,” writes ESPN.

At Dartmouth, running became “more of a lifestyle,” says D’Agostino. “Running was a very important element of our experience at Dartmouth and I realized that running could be simultaneously hard and fun, and that was the best thing about it. I was on a team where people shared the joy of the sport.”
