In recent days, the nation’s media, from the Chronicle of Higher Education to The Wall Street Journal, turned to Dartmouth for comment. Here’s what five professors had to say:
“This requires design work. There are no off-the-shelf solutions to building a hybrid vehicle,” says Thayer School of Engineering’s Douglas Fraser in a WMUR story about the Formula Hybrid Competition founded and run by Thayer. The event is held April 28 to May 1 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H.
“Novel doesn’t actually even get to it. It wouldn’t be crazy to say that it was unheard of,” says Professor Dan Rockmore in a Chronicle of Higher Education story about BASIC, the computer-programming language developed at Dartmouth 50 years ago.
