A Look at Some of Dartmouth’s Upcoming Events

June is here, and that means Commencement, reunions, and the beginning of summer in Hanover. Classes for summer term begin Thursday, June 19, but there’s much to do before then. Here is a look at some of the upcoming events at Dartmouth.

June 5-15: Dartmouth Class Reunions, sponsored by Alumni Relations, begin June 5. Welcome home!

June 6: Jessica Hamblen of Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine and the National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) presents a talk at the VA Center in White River Junction, Vt., starting at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6. PTSD self-help tools will be demonstrated during hour prior to the talk.

June 6-8: The full range of Commencement Weekend events—awards ceremonies, Class Day exercises, Investitures, receptions, Baccalaureate, and the academic proceedings of Commencement itself—are listed on the Dartmouth College Commencement website.

Commencement weekend highlights include:

June 7: Baccalaureate, a multi-faith ceremony celebrating the significance of graduation through prayer, music, and a keynote presentation by the Rev. Elizabeth Stookey and Noel Paul Stookey, begins at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, in Rollins Chapel.

June 8: Dartmouth’s Commencement exercises take place on the Green, rain or shine. First come, first served seating begins at 6:30 a.m. Guests are encouraged to take their seats by 9:15 a.m. The academic procession begins at 9:30 a.m.

June 11: As a prelude to a hands-on session in the studio, the Hood Museum of Art invites the public on a tour of Dartmouth’s outdoor sculpture. Registration is required for this workshop, which begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at the museum.
