For Dartmouth Families, a Glimpse of Sophomore Summer

Body

Sophomore Summer, a feature of the D-Plan, Dartmouth’s unique academic calendar, brings the rising junior class together for a term of study and community-building following their second year at Dartmouth. It also means that roughly halfway through students’ undergraduate careers, their families get the chance to enjoy Hanover in the summer, too.

Sophomore Family Weekend for the Class of 2016 runs Friday, July 25, through Sunday, July 27. Planned by the Collis Center for Student Involvement and the Class of 2016, the weekend traditionally includes a mix of entertainment and enlightenment, from the Frost and Dodd Play Festival to athletic events, tours of the Baker Library bell tower, and lectures by faculty members.

Sophomore Family Weekend also offers families a chance to speak with College deans about how students can make the most of the second half of their Dartmouth experience. A full schedule of events is provided to attendees upon their arrival in Hanover. For more information about the weekend, visit the Collis Center’s Sophomore Weekend website.
