Dartmouth Now takes note when faculty members weigh in on issues of the day. Here is today’s “Quoted”:

“You test everyone and end up treating people for diseases that would never have mattered, either because they wouldn’t have progressed or because people die of something else,” says Professor Jonathan Skinner in a MIT Technology Review story about cancer screening.

Skinner is the James O. Freedman Presidential Professor in Economics, a professor of community and family medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine, and a professor of The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.
