Are Flight Delays Passengers’ Fault? (The Washington Post)

A study undertaken by Dartmouth researchers and colleagues found that when it comes to flight delays that are caused by people, the fault lies with passengers, not airline crew members, reports The Washington Post.

The findings brought new questions for Associate Professor of Engineering Vikrant Vaze of Thayer School of Engineering, and called for additional research. “Perhaps we’ll know that crew contributes X percent of the delays,” he tells the Post. “But will it be 1 percent, or 5 percent, or 20 percent? We don’t know yet.”
