Dartmouth Now takes note when faculty members weigh in on issues of the day. Here is today’s “Quoted”:

“Our estimates with European data imply that a one percentage point increase in the unemployment rate lowers well-being by more than five times as much as one percentage point increase in the inflation rate,” says Professor David Blanchflower in a Wall Street Journal story about how unemployment affects society’s happiness and well-being.

Blanchflower is the Bruce V. Rauner Professor of Economics.
