The Valley News features Cortland Begor 18, who as a junior in high school started his own company, TimberStix Lacrosse. The company produces men’s wooden lacrosse sticks. This is a unique niche, the article notes, because the majority of lacrosse sticks are made with either metal or composite shafts.

“The traditional game is more in vogue. The wood shaft is sort of symbolic of that. … It’s something that sort of gets lacrosse back to its roots,” Begor tells the newspaper.
