Quoted: William Black on Lung Cancer Screening

Dartmouth Now takes note when faculty weigh in on issues of the day. Here is today’s “Quoted”:

“You could cause harm, and you could cause a lot of expense, so it’s important we set our criteria so we are detecting these small curable cancers but we aren’t overtreating them,” says the Geisel School of Medicine’s William Black in a U.S. News & World Report story about lung cancer screening.

Black is a professor of radiology and of community and family medicine at Geisel and at the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice.
