In June, the Big Green women’s sailing team won the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association championship for the second year in a row, and Deirdre Lambert ’15 was named Quantum Women’s Sailor of the Year, also for the second year in a row.

In this video, Lambert, an engineering major, talks about balancing her love for both engineering and sailing. “Sailing has definitely influenced the way I approach problems as an engineer because I’ve learned through sailing to emphasize patience, consistency, and discipline,” says Lambert. “You have to see a lot of sides of a problem before tackling it and not be frustrated when the first try doesn’t always work.”
