Dartmouth Now takes note when faculty and other members of the community weigh in on issues of the day. Here is today’s “Quoted”:

“It’s a pretty unusual attack from a jihadist organization. It’s not a suicide attack, and it’s not a bombing. We haven’t seen many cases of cells affiliated with [al-Qaeda-linked] groups carrying out shootings like this,” says Daniel Benjamin, the former top counterterrorism official at the U.S. State Department and director of the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding, in a Washington Post story about the attack on Charlie Hebdo in Paris.
