Big Green Skier Wins National Title

In the first event at the 2015 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Skiing Championships in Lake Placid, N.Y., Patrick Caldwell ’17 finished the men’s Nordic 10-kilometer freestyle course at Mt. Van Hoevenberg in 25:09.1 to win the individual title. He finished 2.2 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

Caldwell is the first Big Green skier to earn a national title since Sam Tarling ’13 won the freestyle in 2011.

As the individual champion, Caldwell earned first-team All-America honors, while Silas Talbot ’15 garnered second-team honors for placing eighth overall with a time of 26:24.2.

In the women’s 5-kilometer freestyle,Corey Stock ’16 finished 13th with a time of 15:16.4.
