Cubs Pitcher Looks for More Success (The Washington Post)

“Studying has never been a problem for Chicago Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks, who has a degree in economics from Dartmouth. The right-hander enjoys baseball’s scouting reports and video work almost as much as being on the mound,” writes the Associated Press in a story about Kyle Hendricks ’12, a former standout on the Big Green baseball team.

With spring training under way, Hendricks, who won seven games on the mound for Chicago last year, is vying for a spot in the Cubs’ starting rotation this season, reports the AP. “Spring training is really long and nothing is ever set in stone,” Hendricks tells the AP. “You never know till you break camp, so I am just going to keep doing what I’m doing. Hopefully that’ll stand up in the end.”
