DartArt is a new video series featuring interviews with students about their favorite works of art at the College.
In this video, the first of the series, Ellen Plane ’15 discusses her favorite artwork on campus, the sculpture Thel, by Beverly Pepper.
“I love the angles. There’s a lot of power in this sculpture,” says Plane, who studies biology and environmental studies. In art, she says, she finds inspiration for her scientific pursuits.
“I think that it’s really important to incorporate art into the sciences and have a creative outlook when working on scientific problems,” she says. “The only way that we’re going to be able to solve some of the pressing environmental problems that we’re facing is to be more creative.”
