Dartmouth Now takes note when faculty and other members of the community weigh in on issues of the day. Here is today’s “Quoted”:

“More people have thrown in their lot with the extremists than has been the case before. But the numbers are relatively small, and our own security is much less imperiled than has been claimed,” say Dartmouth’s Daniel Benjamin in a Washington Post story about the U.S. campaign against the Islamic State and other terrorist groups.

Benjamin is director of the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding.
