“There could be a very, very large subsurface habitable environment throughout the Antarctic regions,” Professor Ross Virginia tells Discovery News in a story about the discovery of an interconnected subsurface briny aquifer deep beneath Antarctica’s frozen tundra.

Virginia is the Myers Family Professor of Environmental Science and the director of the Institute of Arctic Studies.
