Dartmouth Now offers a weekly roundup of noteworthy events on campus.
Investitures, Baccalaureate, concerts, receptions, and the Commencement ceremony itself: This week is full of events celebrating Dartmouth’s graduates.
Commencement exercises will take place on the Green rain or shine on Sunday, June 14. All family and guests are welcome to attend; no tickets are required. Seating is handled on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 6:30 a.m. Guests are encouraged to take their seats by 9:15 a.m.

Thursday, June 11: The Class of 1965 returns to Dartmouth today, launching the celebration of its 50th reunion, which continues through June 16. Reunion season at Dartmouth extends through June 21, with special events for various classes from the 1960s through the Class of 2010.
Friday, June 12: The Dartmouth College Glee Club presents its annual Commencement Concert in the Hopkins Center’s Spalding Auditorium. Contact the Hop box office for ticket information.
Friday, June 12: Shabbat Service begins at 6 p.m. the Roth Center for Jewish Life.
Saturday, June 13: Three investiture ceremonies—at which awards and academic hoods signifying graduate and professional degrees are presented—take place today. Thayer School of Engineering holds its ceremony at 10 a.m. in the Hopkins Center’s Spaulding Auditorium, honoring graduating BE, MEM, MS, and PhD students. Thayer also will present its Robert Fletcher Award to a graduate or friend of Thayer in recognition of distinguished achievement and service in the highest tradition of the school. Tuck School of Business honors its graduates at a ceremony that starts at 2:30 p.m. in the Tuck Circle. In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place in Leede Arena. The Dartmouth Office of Graduate Studies honors graduating master’s and PhD students at a ceremony scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Bema. The rain location for the Graduate Studies investiture is in Spaulding Auditorium, with a 4 p.m. start time.
Saturday, June 13: Baccalaureate, a multifaith ceremony celebrating the significance of graduation through prayer, music, and an address, begins at 3 p.m. in Rollins Chapel. Doors open at 2:20 p.m. The guest speaker for the Baccalaureate is Rashida Tlaib, who in 2008 became the first Muslim woman elected to the Michigan legislature, and only the second Muslim state legislator in the country. She is currently the community partnerships and development director at the Sugar Law Center for Economic and Social Justice, and manages the Campaign to Take on Hate, a racial justice movement to prevent the increase of hate crimes in the U.S.
Saturday, June 13: The Hood Museum of Art offers a special tour of the exhibit Auto-Graphics: Works by Victor Ekpuk, led by Curator of African Art Ugochukwu-Smooth Nzewi. The tour begins at 2 p.m.
Saturday, June 13: The Dartmouth Wind Ensemble offers its Commencement Concert on the Green, beginning at 5 p.m.
Sunday, June 14: The 2015 Commencement ceremony begins on the Green at 8:55 a.m. with a fanfare by the Class of 1879 Trumpeters, followed by the Baker Library bells at 9:05 a.m. The academic procession to the Commencement ceremony steps off at 9:30 a.m. and the ceremony begins at 10 a.m.
Monday, June 15: Alix Ashare, MD, PhD, assistant professor of medicine and of anesthesiology at the Geisel School of Medicine, presents a seminar titled “Regional Heterogeneity of Human Alveolar Macrophages,” at 4 p.m. in Borwell 658W on the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center campus.
Tuesday, June 16: Ugochukwu-Smooth Nzewi, curator of African art, presents a gallery talk at the Hood Museum on “Memory and Victor Ekpuk’s Wall Drawings,” at 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday, June 17: The Hanover Farmer’s Market comes to the Green today (and every Wednesday through the summer) from 3 to 6 p.m.
Wednesday, June 17: Kyle Smith, assistant professor of psychological and brain science, presents a physiology and neurobiology seminar, “Brain Mechanisms of Habit Formation,” at 4 p.m. in Borwell 658W on the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center campus.
