In the last hundred years or so, nine students from the Northeast Kingdom town of Wheelock, Vt., have taken advantage of a historic agreement between Dartmouth and the town that makes free tuition available to town residents admitted to the College, reports The New York Times in a story by the Associated Press.
Noah Manning ’17 is “the fourth Wheelock student to take the scholarship in the last half-century,” reports the Times.
“I had always heard about it. In like the third grade, I wasn’t quite focused on college yet, but I definitely knew about it,” Manning tells the AP.
