The Dartmouth Organic Farm is ranked among the top 40 college and university farms in the nation, according to the website College Ranker.
The farm, writes the website, “is operated by students and provides the community with independent research, student projects and hands-on experiences for learning sustainable food practices and energy systems. These hands-on experiences provide students (the opportunity) to work with the natural world and to consider the serious impact humans have had. Beginners are welcomed with special work-days and potluck dinners.”
The rankings are based on hands-on experiences; student involvement; community outreach programs; workshops, classes, and lectures; volunteering opportunities; and degree plan options, according to College Ranker.
