Chicago Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks ’12 left Dartmouth before graduating when he was picked up in the 2011 amateur draft. But the right-hander from San Juan Capistrano, Calif., continued taking classes at the College as his schedule allowed—thanks to Dartmouth’s D-Plan quarter system. He spent the fall of 2013 on campus finishing his coursework and graduated last year, reports Fox Sports in a feature story on Hendricks.
The former Big Green pitcher started for the Cubs in yesterday’s game three of the National League Championship Series at Wrigley Field in Chicago, throwing for four innings. The Cubs lost the contest to the New York Mets, 5-2.
