Geisel School of Medicine Associate Professor of Genetics Giovanni Bosco has been awarded a $3.7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The five-year Pioneer Award supports exceptional investigators pursuing innovative research projects.
Bosco is one of 13 scientists in the U.S. recognized for their creative and innovative biomedical and behavioral research.
“I’m very excited that Gio is receiving this award,” says Geisel Interim Dean Duane Compton. “The NIH Pioneer Awards are given to only a handful of investigators each year to recognize and support their highly innovative and exciting ideas and projects.”
Bosco and his team are seeking to discover the precise molecules and neuronal networks that connect the mind to the body.
