“This is a really important piece of common-sense legislation,” Susanne Tanski, an associate professor of pediatrics at the Geisel School of Medicine, tells USA Today, referring to a bill passed by Congress on Monday that would require childproof packaging for the chemical components of e-cigarettes.

“Nicotine,” she says, “is quite a powerful drug that has complex effects on the body, including the brain and the whole nervous system.”
