Olivia Champ ’19 earned a spot at Nationals by finishing second in the individual open over fences class Saturday when the Dartmouth equestrian team competed in the 2018 IHSA Zone I Championships at the Mount Holyoke Equestrian Center in South Hadley, Mass.

Joining Olivia at Nationals will be senior Nathalie Ferneau ’18, who earned a spot representing the New England Zone I in the MacDonald Challenge. Ferneau has been to Nationals, earning the MacDonald National Reserve Championship in 2015.

Thirty-one schools from throughout New England competed with individual Zones qualifiers, while five schools competed in the Zones Collegiate Cup with the hopes of qualifying for Nationals. Individuals and teams competing in the Team Collegiate Cup needed to finish in the top two to qualify for the 2018 IHSA National Finals, which will be held May 3 through 5 in Harrisburg, Pa.
