While many parts of Dartmouth’s campus cannot be fully open during the pandemic, the Hood Museum of Art has evolved with the times to create Tiny Tours so that it can continue to be available to students. These small (five students or fewer) tours, led by a Hood staff member, allow students an intimate look at the museum’s rich and ever-growing collection. Students can sign up for tours on the Hood’s Engage page.
“What we’re hoping to do, through the pandemic, when there are so many other challenges, is to offer one place of not just respite but inspiration,” says John Stomberg, the Virginia Rice Kelsey 1961s Director of the Hood Museum of Art. “So, we’re hoping that these tiny tours are an opportunity to celebrate something—celebrate being outside, celebrate being around art, and reconnect with an actual object.”
