Social Impact in the Upper Valley

 The Strengthening Educational Access with Dartmouth (SEAD) program works with first-generation and low-income high school students to help them succeed in college.

SEAD, a program through the Dartmouth Center for Social Impact, held its immersive summer session last week, bringing high-potential students from high schools around the Upper Valley to campus for a week of community building and engaged mentoring. 

Activities included work on the archaeological dig near Parkhurst with Professor of Anthropology Jessa Casana, examining an exhibit at the Hood Museum of Art, and classes on “My Rights: My Voice,” with Julie Kalish ’91, a lecturer on writing and constitutional law. 

This being summer, the group also snuck in a trip to Fore-U Golf Center in West Lebanon, N.H.
