Eighteen tribal leaders from 16 tribes participated in August in a weeklong Tribal Leadership Academy, where Native Dartmouth alumni and other expert presenters talked about such fields as health care, intergovernmental relations, and tribal law.

As Cheryl Andrew-Maltais of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head Aquinnah notes, the alumni are “walking in these paths” of leadership and passing along their experience and wisdom to new tribal leaders.
