Research at Dartmouth

Across all five schools, our faculty and student scholars pursue new forms of creative expression and seek answers to pressing questions about climate change, cancer immunotherapy, social justice, cybersecurity, and many other urgent issues.
Through our scholar-teacher model, students work directly with faculty on real-world problems, experiencing the joys and challenges of discovery and creation and helping translate ideas into societal benefit.
As the birthplace of artificial intelligence and the BASIC programming language, the home of the Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care, and a key contributor to the research behind COVID-19 vaccines, Dartmouth has a long history of discovery and creation that reaches well beyond campus.

Dartmouth Faculty on their Research
Connect With Research at Dartmouth

Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars lead research in departments and labs across Dartmouth, in Arts and Sciences, Geisel, and Thayer. The Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies brings those programs together.

Undergraduates design and carry out original research with faculty, many starting in their first year, with funding and support from Undergraduate Advising and Research.

Dartmouth faculty are available to comment on their areas of expertise. The Office of Communications can help make those connections.
