Valentine's day is coming! A special letterpress orientation session will be offered for all newcomers which, in addition to learning the basics of type setting and press work, will give participants an opportunity to print a Valentine card for that special someone.

Starting with a brief history of letterpress printing and the workshop, we will then learn to set type and print a Valentine's day card that has each participants own message. We will print them in two ink colors. The image can then be dusted with a Virkotype powder which, when warmed, will fuse into a raised image on the card.

No previous experience is required and all materials are provided. We will work for two evenings (attendance for both classes is necessary) from 6:00 to 9:00, February 1 and 8 in Baker Library, Room 25.  Registration is required.
