We are pleased to invite everyone to the fourth annual Celebration of Biomedical Research at Dartmouth (CBRaD) poster session on Wednesday, October 17th from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Life Sciences Center (second floor).

Our goal in coordinating this poster session is to highlight research in all of the science graduate programs under the Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies, Geisel and biomedical-related research labs throughout Dartmouth. All are welcome to attend and/or present!

We hope to further engender a sense of community throughout the faculty, postdocs and graduate students who do research here, as well as foster potential collaborations. As many graduate students will be joining us this fall, this is also an opportunity to demonstrate the strength and diversity of biomedical research at Dartmouth, particularly for students seeking rotations and thesis labs. Poster presenters will be given 5 minutes to deliver their poster to judges, and top posters will then have a second round of presentations to decide the top prize winners!

For the judged posters, we are offering options this year:

1st place: A smart watch (Apple or otherwise if winner doesn’t have an iPhone) or a 4.0 College pass to Killington, Pico, Okemo, Mount Sunapee for the 2018-19 ski season.

2nd place: Bose SoundSport Free headphones or a Whaleback and Dartmouth Skiway season pass

3rd place: a Whaleback season ski pass or $100 Amazon gift card

If poster presenters do not want their poster to be judged, then they will be entered into a raffle where they can win a $50 gift card to various local businesses. Food and beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be provided.

As the date for CBRaD is fast approaching, we would encourage all graduate students, postdocs and faculty interested in presenting their own research or their lab’s research to sign up on the Google spreadsheet linked directly below. We will have 10 monitor/screens available again this year in LSC 200, so if you are interested in presenting an interactive poster, please send that request to Gail. If we have more than 10 interested in using the monitors, we will assign them based on who replies/requests them first. Please sign up by October 9th as we will need a final headcount for posters, food, and beverages.

We are also going to have a mentoring award again this year! To qualify for this award we would ask students to submit a short cover-letter detailing why their mentor should win this award. In order to be eligible to win, someone from the lab (ideally the mentor) needs to be present at CBRaD to accept the award. Please submit to Gail Egner no later than October 3rd.

Sign up to present at or attend CBRaD 2018 here. If you are attending but not presenting, please click on the second tab of the Google doc.

Additionally, we will have an attendee raffle as well, so we hope you will enter to win a gift certificate to one of the selected local businesses!

We hope you all will participate/attend CBRaD. Please email any questions to Gail.P.Egner@dartmouth.edu, or the PEMM student reps David.J.Mallick.GR@Dartmouth.edu or Eileen.Martinez.GR@Dartmouth.edu
