Dr. Kenneth Hoehn is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Data Science at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. His research focuses on developing novel computational methods to reconstruct the somatic evolution of cellular populations, particularly B cells during immune responses. As part of this research, he works extensively with experimental collaborators to understand adaptive immunity across diseases including infections, food allergies, autoimmune diseases, and cancer. Dr. Hoehn earned his DPhil from the University of Oxford where he developed the B cell phylogenetic inference software IgPhyML and completed postdoctoral training at Yale School of Medicine where he developed the R package Dowser for cellular phylogenetics. His work has been recognized and supported by multiple awards including a Marshall Scholarship and a PhRMA Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship and is currently supported by NIH funding. Beyond research, Dr. Hoehn is dedicated to education and mentorship, which includes co-teaching a Computational Immunology course and supervising a dynamic group of trainees including undergraduates, PhD students, research staff, and postdoctoral fellows.
