The purpose of the trip was to connect with and learn from Sámi Peoples and Arctic researchers about how green transitions impact and involve Indigenous livelihoods and cultures. The goal was also for students to become more informed citizens, with their trip experiences informing their academics at Dartmouth as well as their future careers. Institute of Arctic Studies Program Manager Sanaa Siddiqi and Assistant Director to the Dartmouth Sustainability Office Laura Braasch organised the trip.
