Join us for a conversation with former New Hampshire Supreme Court Justice Jim Bassett '78. Justice Bassett is named as the 2026-27 Perkins Bass Distinguished Visitor. Justice Bassett will discuss his journey from Dartmouth to the New Hampshire Supreme Court, including his twenty-seven years working as a trial lawyer and appellate lawyer, the landmark cases he argued, and his thirteen-year term as a New Hampshire Justice. Justice Bassett will also discuss the vision behind the launch of the Rockefeller Center’s Judicial Fellow Program, and his ongoing dedication to preparing students for careers in law.
The conversation will be moderated by Kristin Smith, Visiting Associate Professor of Sociology and Rockefeller Center Policy Research Shop Director.
This program is being hosted by the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy at Dartmouth, Dartmouth Dialogues, the Office of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and the Office of the Associate Dean for the Social Sciences.
