University Seminar on Debt and Credit will convene twice per term over the coming year. The seminar takes up debt and credit as frameworks that shape economic and institutional life, moral reasoning, and social relations. Debt and credit function as financial instruments, of course, but they also work as metaphors and organizing principles across religion, law, education, medicine, and environmental policy. Our aim is not to arrive at a unified thesis but to build an ongoing forum where colleagues can share work in progress, test ideas, and see how a shared conceptual vocabulary connects otherwise distant fields. We are hoping for a genuinely interdisciplinary group, and no disciplinary vantage point is off the table. A catered lunch by Salubre will be provided.  Please click here to confirm your interest and let us know about any dietary restrictions. If you are not able to make this meeting but would like to remain on the mailing list for information about future meetings, please also use the form to confirm interest.
