Sugarwood Circle
Dartmouth has financed the $15.2 million, 21-unit development located off of Oak Ridge Rd., about a mile south of the Hanover Green. The modular homes are being built by East Montpelier, Vt.-based Huntington Homes.
- Units include three-bedroom and two-bedroom single-family homes and duplexes with single-car garages
- Located on the Advance Transit and Campus Connector bus lines, easily accessible to campus and nearby shopping
- Dartmouth began subletting the homes at market rates as they came online, beginning in January 2026, with priority for employees new to the Upper Valley. As of September, more than half of the units have been rented, and leasing incentives are currently available.
- When construction is complete, Dartmouth plans to purchase the property and continue leasing the homes to employees

The Teagans
Planning is underway for a proposed 18-unit development on Teagan Avenue in Hanover, just north of Thompson Arena. In September 2026, Dartmouth presented preliminary plans for informal review by the Hanover Planning Board. Dartmouth hopes to complete the permitting process later this fall and start construction in spring 2027.
- The neighborhood will be available for faculty and staff to rent at market rates
- Units will feature one-bedroom duplexes and two-bedroom, two-story townhouses
- Each unit will have an open-plan kitchen and living area, a porch, and basement storage and laundry facilities

Supporting Affordable
Housing in the
Upper Valley
Along with its own housing construction projects, Dartmouth has also doubled its commitment to the Upper Valley Loan Fund, contributing $3 million to help develop new affordable housing throughout the region.
To date, this commitment has financed 111 affordable units in Springfield, Windsor, and White River Junction, Vt., with 138 more currently in development.
