On April 14, the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth will host the Greener Ventures 2012 entrepreneurship conference, which brings together nationally recognized entrepreneurial leaders to discuss entrepreneurial initiatives within the Dartmouth community. The conference, which is open to the public, is organized by the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network (DEN) and the Entrepreneurship Initiative at Tuck.
Greener Ventures was established in 2002 to foster an entrepreneurial spirit within the broad Dartmouth and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center community of students, faculty, researchers, alumni, and staff.
“The goal of Greener Ventures is to capture all of the entrepreneurial energy around Dartmouth in one place, at one time,” said Joaquin Villarreal T’08, manager of the Entrepreneurship Initiative at Tuck.
Keynote speakers include Dartmouth Trustee Trevor Rees-Jones ’73, founder and president of Chief Oil & Gas, and Christina Stoltz ’06, innovative social entrepreneur. The conference schedule includes 12 panel discussions on such topics as clinical care delivery (moderated by Trustee Emerita Susan Dentzer ’77), start-up financing (moderated by the William and Josephine Buchanan Professor of Management Colin Blaydon), social entrepreneurship (moderated by Adjunct Professor of Business Administration John Vogel), the future of energy, and “intrapreneurship.”
The event will also feature workshops on operational issues facing entrepreneurs, such as incorporation, intellectual property, and website strategies.
