Forbes India writes about a recent study by Kenneth R. French, the Roth Family Distinguished Professor of Finance at the Tuck School of Business, and Chicago Booth School of Business Professor Eugene F. Fama, who say that when managers of active funds manage to beat the market, it’s not possible to tell whether they are highly skilled or just lucky.

“In fact, Fama and French show that most active fund managers do not do better than would be expected by chance,” the magazine writes.
