Highlighting Employees’ Talents and Interests

The seventh annual ArtWorks exhibition, which showcases Dartmouth employees’ talents outside of work, takes place March 20 and 21.

“We know the staff and faculty are incredibly skilled at their professions, but it's always exciting to find out what talents and interests they have outside of work,” says Myron S. McCoo, vice president of human resources. “We are delighted to showcase these artistic expressions through ArtWorks.”

The festivities will kick off with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on March 20 in the Hopkins Center’s Alumni Hall, and run from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on March 21. All events are free and open to the public. Visual art exhibitions will be in Alumni Hall, while music and performing arts will take place in the Top of the Hop.

More than 70 staff and faculty will participate in ArtWorks, which will include musical performances, paintings, photography, pottery, poetry readings, and sculptures. ArtWorks features employees from departments across campus, as well as Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, Thayer School of Engineering, and the Tuck School of Business.

“I applaud ArtWorks for providing this opportunity to all employees—not just those professionals engaged in the arts—to share their creative talents and expression with the greater Dartmouth community,” says Joseph Blumberg, science writer at the Office of Public Affairs, whose photography will be on display.

ArtWorks is supported by the Office of Human Resources, the Office of the President, the Office of the Provost, and Dartmouth’s Year of the Arts initiative.
