AAAS Selects Phil Hanlon in 2013 Class of Fellows (Record Update)

The American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS), a prestigious society that recognizes individuals for their contributions in scholarly and professional fields, has named Dartmouth President-Elect Philip J. Hanlon ’77 a fellow in the society, announced the University of Michigan’s online news site, Record Update.

President-Elect Hanlon is among 198 new members, who include some of the world’s “most accomplished scholars, scientists, writers, artists, and civic, corporate, and philanthropic leaders,” Record Update reports.

This year’s new fellows include jazz musician Herbie Hancock, actors Robert DeNiro and Sally Field, singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen, and astronaut and former U.S. senator John Glenn.
