In an opinion piece in U.S. News & World Report, the Tuck School of Business’ Brian Tomlin and his co-authors say that drug companies can take steps to alleviate the serious problem of defective drug production in the United States.

To ensure that no defective drugs are produced, drug company executives need to “develop a quality-oriented mindset across the entire supply chain,” says Tomlin, an associate professor of business administration, and his co-authors.

“Absent such an organizational mindset,” they write, “quality failures will occur even with the technology.”
