The search for a new Tuck School of Business dean has begun, and an advisory search committee has been appointed, announced Dartmouth Provost Carolyn Dever, who will oversee the search.
Tuck Dean Paul Danos in March announced that he would not seek reappointment for a sixth term as dean when his current term ends in June 2015.
“Over the past several weeks, I have been working with President Phil Hanlon, Dean Danos, and other senior leaders at Tuck to plan a search for Paul’s successor. Many members of the Tuck community—faculty, staff, students, and alumni—have written to provide their input on the search process,” said Dever.

Bob Hansen, senior associate dean and the Norman W. Martin 1925 Professor of Business Administration, will serve as chair of the advisory committee leading the search. Spencer Stuart will support the committee as the search consultants throughout the process, and Martha Austin, executive officer for the Provost’s Division, will staff the search.
In addition to Bob Hansen, the advisory search committee members are: Kusum Ailawadi, the Charles Jordan 1911, TU’12 Professor of Marketing; Giovanni Gavetti, associate professor of business administration; Joseph J. Helble, dean of Thayer School of Engineering and professor of engineering; Sally Jaeger, assistant dean and director of the MBA Program; Jonathan W. Lewellen, the Carl E. and Katherine M. Heidt Professor of Finance; Sarah Mahlab, Tuck MBA candidate in the Class of 2015, Paul Raether, Tuck ’73, a member of the global investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and a member of the Tuck Board of Overseers; Brian T. Tomlin, professor of business administration; Jennifer Uhrig, Tuck ’87, an executive at Fidelity Investments and a member of the Tuck Board of Overseers.
The committee will begin its work over the summer and hopes to have a candidate identified by early 2015, said Dever.
